Polyphasic Sleeping can be somewhat frustrating at times because it often seems as if the body is not completely independent.
Most people have conditioned brains that often crave long periods of sleep. Therefore, polyphasic sleepers can usually not be dependent on the body to help manage the schedule.
Polyphasic sleepers must devise alarms to help them wake up. Alram difficulties often snowball into horrible outcomes for the polyphasic sleeper. We often set alarms for the wrong time, we disable the sound function on alarms accidentaly, we quickly turn off the alarm and go back to bed, etc, etc.
Polyphasic Sleepers would be wise to construct a reliable alarm system that will get you out of bed quickly and keep you from returning to sleep.
